How do I configure e-mail on an iPhone / iPad?
1. The domain you wish to configure must be linked to your hosting package and the domain name must be accessible via the internet. Link domain to hosting package.
2. In order to receive and send e-mail you must create an e-mail account. Create e-mail account.
Configure e-mail on an iPhone / iPad
The following steps are carried out on an iPhone / iPad. The manual is written based on the iOS 8 operating system. If you are using an older version of iOS, it may be that the settings are somewhat different. In addition, for this instruction, we used our secured mailserver we recommend, these settings will only work with our webhosting and reseller packages. 1. Go to 'Settings' from the Home screen of your device.
2. Scroll downward and press 'Mail, Contacts, Agenda'.
3. Press 'New account' and choose 'Other'.
4. Press 'Add mail account'.
5. Enter your name with 'Name' and your e-mail address and password of the e-mail account:
6. Press 'Next'.
7. Provide the server name for incoming and outgoing e-mail as follows:
Hostnaam: mail.dvo.uk
User name: E-mail address
Password: Password e-mail account
8. Click 'Next'.
9. When you see the notification 'Would you like to configure this account without SSL', please choose 'No'
10. When you see the notification 'This account may not be able to send or receive email. Are you sure you want to save" click 'Save'.
11. The following screen will appear. Uncheck 'Notes' and press 'Save’. Your e-mail account has been created.
Configuring the right port for outgoing e-mail.
To be able to send e-mail, we must configure the outgoing mail ports. This is done as follows:
1. Go to 'Settings' from the Home screen of your device.
2. Scroll downwards and press 'Mail, Contacts, Agenda'.
3. Press the e-mail account you just created under Accounts.
4. Press the IMAP account with your e-mail address.
5. At 'Outgoing mail server' press 'SMTP mail.dvo.uk'.
6. Change the server port to '465' and press 'Done'.
7. Press 'Done' to save the settings.
Please note there is an option "detect and automatically update account settings" that should be deactivated to work correctly.
Your e-mail account is now ready for use on your iPhone / iPad.
